One of the more popular diets today is the South Beach Diet. While it isn't on the best or healthiest diets list, it seems to be a generally healthy diet choice. Some disagree, but I invite you to look at the list of foods. The diet offers something from most of the major foods groups. The only real important items that are missing seem to be fruits from Phase 1. However many of these fruits are reintroduced during phase 2.
The South Beach Diet allows for foods with a low glycemic index. If you are looking for a diet where you won't starve, this could be your answer. In fact snacking is encouraged with the South Beach Diet. Sugar rich foods like potatoes, corn, rice and most sugary desserts are not allowed.
The idea behind the South Beach Diet is to create a new way of eating that will not only help us eat less, but make us not want to over eat in the future. For more information about the South Beach Diet see links below.
